Hey again,

I guess that I am really just having a bad day. My doctor increase my Zoloft 5 weeks ago from 100mg to 150mg, after 10 years. I took the 150mg on New Year's Eve and had anxiety to the max., ended up having to take a Restoril (which I usually take at night to help with sleep) which made me feel good. I took 100mg yesterday and did not have the anxiety, actually had a great afternoon.

Well, I again took the 150mg this morning and have anxiety
out of control. Looks like I will have to take another Restoril to enjoy my day.

I know that others take Xanax, Ativan and such to immediatly relieve anxiety symptoms but I am also taking Buspar which has a building effect for anxiety control, my 2nd week on it.

Any comments? Does anyone use Restoril?
I have just started taking Zoloft as a one week trial, and only on my second day. I feel anxious and sick. I couldn't sleep properly last night, so I don't really know if its working or if everyone experiences this the first time.

Serotonin in excess causes anxiety and insomnia; it is excitatory. Why SSRi's helps some peoples' anxiety might be due to paradoxial or even rebound effect I imagine because serotonin increased means more adrenaline(serotonin is a precursor) and adrenaline is the anxiety sufferers enemy. Usually, SSRi's produce too much stimulation and end result is the added need for sleep aids and tranquilizers.

Over time, serotonin receptors can become desensitized and low energy, depression might be a result, or antidepressant poop out.
Maybe you can try keeping your dose lower for a little while. It seems like the dose is too strong. The Zoloft is very stimulating for me too and i'm having difuculty sleeping but i'm enjoying the serotonin surge or whatever is going on. You might be experiencing some kind of "poop out" thing. 10 years is a long time on Zoloft. Maybe you can make a switch to something else.

Let me know or actually let us all know how you make out with the fish oils. I was taking them at one time with SAMe but it gave me extreme pains in my stomach. It was unbearable. The Zoloft was working well for me but last night i had the scariest panic attack ever. It took a little extra Xanax to finally calm it down.

how long have you been on the zoloft. I had an intense moment last night for the first time on paxil. I felt good all day until about 700 last night. Then I just felt over reved for a little bit. Wonder if it is from just starting a new drug?

So far so good with the Fish Oil along with a GNC multi-vitamin to repair my body. I will keep you posted. Yep, that Zoloft is a powerful anxiety\panic like trigger. That's why I went back to my normal dosage and supplemental fish oil.

Keep me posted on your progress.

Boiler,

Yep, the new drug is building in your body and your body is adjusting to it. Some people don't get side effects until the 2nd or 3rd week while others get them right away.

ZoloftMan,

Do you take the GNC brand fish oils with 180 mg of epa? I remember someone saying that the epa is more effective than the dha for depression and anxiety (like up to 1,000 mg of epa was recomended).

Ive been on the Zoloft for about a month and it is helping with my depression. The only thing is that the past few days i've been feeling very dizzy and kind of off balance and light headed. Last night i couldnt even walk from one room to the next because of the dizziness. I still feel very off balance while I type this message.
