Depression board

Hi everyone, My Psych. just took me off Wellbutrin & started Abilify. Does anyone have experience w/this med. ? Side effects ? Appreciate any input. Thanks, Mike ( I'm also still on Zoloft, down from 200mg. to 100mg.
Hey Mike, I looked it up online. Says it's a tranquilizer, usually start in the 10-15 mg. dose, goes up to about 30 mg. I have a friend who was on it for a while, for BP2. She found it helpful at the time. I don't remember her mentioning a ton of side effects. Did your doc say what the reasoning is for adding that and decreasing the Zoloft?
Abilify can be used as a mood stabilizer, it's really being touted as a drug for bipolar disoirder, but proabably has uses in depression also as it works similarly in the brain, I would suppose. My daughter has been on it for about a month and says it seems better than Zoloft, Celexa, Lamictal, Welbutrin or Paxil. Trying to treat depression is really a crapshoot. What works for one won't necessarily work for another. My daughter's side effects were a sense os buzzing ine her hands and feet but it was nominal and not bothersome at all. Some appetite changes but I don't think anything serious. Good Luck, hope it helps.
