On Oct 20, 2005 I shot an intruder breaking into my house. He had a gun (stolen the night before) and was 18 years old. One week later (before I had my burglar alarm activated with ADT) someone broke in the same window and ripped me off ... I did ok getting over all that until last August, when I started getting these feelings like I was having a heart attack. I went and had a stress test and everything checked out ok. My regular doc gave me Zoloft (as I was in a state of depression also) & it did nothing. He subscribed Wellbutrin (did nothing), as well as Tranxene (this made things worse) ... He finally gave me Xanax which got me by until around Feb. 1st and I just couldn't handle it any more. He referred me to a psychiatrist who gave me Seroquel at first. Now I'm on Symbyax 6/50 and also the Xanax when needed.

Things are getting better, but I signed up for SSDisability (as I'm on short-term leave from work). I like my job but just don't believe I could cope with going back to work ... What I really want to do now (I'm 58) is stay off work until the SSD comes into play (which will take a while as I understand you're usually turned down the initial filing, after that you have to get a SS lawyer) as I'm eligible for $1659/per month and can get Medicare after two years ...

Sorry for this to be so long, but what do you guys think? Has anyone ever gone through this sort of thing?
