Cancer: Lung board

Serenity, thank you for the info on the patch. Bud has that spinal mets that you talked about. We went today for the report and news was awful. The mets are all over his mid-lower back and pelvic area. Nothing touches it...morphine...maybe and barely. I know that time is drawing near and honestly with as much pain as he is experiencing....I don't know what I would do...choose. He wants to live, but what medicine can do and what the cancer will do....that's a big difference. I hope that when the time comes, he goes quickly. His pain is almost intolerable...how do we caregivers help with this? Today he went through a new treatment for the bone cancer.. Zometa. He ended up going to sleep this afternoon, and since he woke up, he has had a terrible headache and fever-chills. His temp has been 99.9 but he still shakes like a leaf. I have him covered up with two quilts and a heating pad. I called the pharmacy thinking he might have a reaction to the liquid morphine...but two pharmacists seem to think that his prob is related to the Zometa. That, in a day or so, he will beel better. Hope so. So folks, this is our story and we are sticking to it..LOL...

Please, remember that our sarcastic humor masks other weaknesses. Take care all. From Southern Indiana we send our love, prayers, hopes for good results, and lots of support....
