Hi Texasduchess...I can completely relate to your situation, I am currently in Pain Management as well, have been to orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, neurologists, you name it, I have had MRI's, X-Rays, Myelogram/CT Scan, Epidural Steroid Injections, EMG/NCV, and I also have been told by my Neurologist, and my Pain Management doctor that I do not have anything structural causing my pain, such as disc, etc.....they say that I have nerve damage, that my EMG shows it, it is the S1 nerve that is damaged, they say that IF it is going to heal, it will take A LONG TIME! and there is still that possibility that it will not heal..... he said that now basically I am looking at Narcotic Pain Meds (Vicodin) , and Nerve Medication ( Zonegran) is my latest one.... he says that basically I take the meds, to try to get my pain at a somewhat more tolerable level, and then give the nerve time to heal, if after an acceptable amount of time if the pain doesn't seem to be any better, we then exlore other avenues of treatment, such as implantable devices.....I know it is a hard road to travel, hopefully one day we can all be pain free.....Keep us up to date with what is going on with you...Take Care.....
