Discussions that mention zyrtec

Children's Health board

Hello
My son is also 5 and has had nose bleeds for about 3 years now. However 99% of his are at night. We use a humidifier, saline drops, vasaline, and Zyrtec. He doesn't have as many now (about 3 a month). Our Dr. mentioned that his blood vessels are on the out side of his mucus lining which make him more apt to get them but he SHOULD grow out of them.
In the mean time, gently pinch his nose while he holds his head DOWN for five minutes if it doens't stop, do it for five more and if that doesn't work go to the ER.
Just be patient and make sure you tell your son's doctor so he can be evaluated.
Wish you all the best!
