To Joanne and other bunion surgery survivors: My surgery is slated for August 10th and hearing your reports is extremely helpful and encouraging. Frankly, I am very afraid of the pain and the lack of mobility. I am also paranoid about my two big black labs (100 lbs) and worry about them accidentally stepping on my foot! Hopefully, all will go well. Would appreciate more updates from others who have the surgery, especially regarding pain, pain medication, helpful hints, etc. Thanks!!

: : Hi guys.
: : Well it's almost been 6 weeks since I had my bunion surgery and I'm glad to report everything is going well. I am having my pins removed(from my hammertoes) on SATURDAY and soon after that I'll be out of these dorky post op shoes. I just thought I'd write and maybe give some encouragement and support to people with bunions who are too scared to go and have the operation. I had no pain after the first week and the only inconvenience so far had been these stupid shoes. Apart from that it's all been great. My feet are looking wonderful with hardly any scarring and I can't wait to get the pins out of my toes so I can start wearing my sneakers again.. Good luck to anyone out there with similar foot problems...
: Joanne,
: I just wanted to say thanks for posting the encouraging words! My surgery is scheduled for the 2nd of August and I am a nervous wreck! I am worried about everything but, after reading what your experience was like, I feel a little better! I know that I need to have this done BUT, I am worried about the recovery time. I just have too many things to do this summer!

: Linda
