: : : Hi,

: : : Does anyone out there know of a message board or support group for survivors of SCD - especially regarding theh ICD inmplant. I had Ventricular Fibrillation and had to be shocked back to life. It was a complete shock because I have always been healthy - don't drink, don't smoke, etc. I was at the end of an intensive workout when it happened.

: : : Anybody having experienced this, send me an email?

: : : Thanks,
: : : Dave

: : Hi, It must have been such a shock for you to have gone through what you describe here. Have you heard of the SADS Foundation?
: : They have many similar stories and other heart rhythm problems they might be able to help you with further information.
: : The website is at.
: :

: yes i can now speak from experience having had my first shock on 9-8-00. after having the unit implanted over 16 months ago. i wasn't at all prepared for it. if you have found a chat room please advise me otherwise please feel free to e-mail anytime.

Dave, There used to be a LQT chat on Sundays, am not sure if it still is on, but if you go to the SADS website, they mention it under the links, I found it very helpful.
They will also mail out further information to read through if you ask , they have a twice yearly newsletter called Heart to Hearth and people have sent their personal stories in to share experiences with others.
Feel free to contact me if you like, my email is.
