: : Hi,

: : Does anyone out there know of a message board or support group for survivors of SCD - especially regarding theh ICD inmplant. I had Ventricular Fibrillation and had to be shocked back to life. It was a complete shock because I have always been healthy - don't drink, don't smoke, etc. I was at the end of an intensive workout when it happened.

: : Anybody having experienced this, send me an email?

: : Thanks,
: : Dave

: There is a site out of St Pete Florida valled the Zapper. Lots of good info and very nice folks. I had exactly the same sityuation and had mine AICD for three years prior to my first shock. If you are interested, email me... It is importanmt to know that a shock is not indicative of a life threatening situation. i.e A-fib can cause a shock (multiple) and not be life threatening.

We do a bi-weekly online ICD support chat in private room on AOL... You will need AOL access to enter room... we meet each Sun/Wed at 9 PM ET in ICD Support... got to "people" click "find chat" type "ICD Support" and click "go" that should take you to private ICD Support Chat... or email me and I'll send link. I hope you can join us. We've been meeting for over 3 yrs now and have gathered some very nice persons w/a variety of concerns/conditions/and experience. No professionals/patients all and each w/a story to tell and an ear to listen. JES :)
