hi michelle--

dows your cousing truly have the disease still, or did she just test positive for the hep b antibodies? these antibodies stay i the system for a lifetime for most people, even tho the disease is long over.

what other tests were done to know for sure she still has hep b in some active form? what does her obgyn think is a sign of maybe becoming active again?

and yes, she should certainly see a specialist--at least once, to find out if she is indeed chronic, and if so, what next.
if not, she can relax.

: A cousin of mine was diagnosed with Chronic Hept. B while pregnant. The only way we know that she contracted it was possibly through her birth mother. Her adopted mom and her both had hepititis when we were in the 7th grade...and her mom has since passed four years ago of Liver Cancer. The baby and her are well..and the baby was born with no trace of the disease. However, her ob is showing great concern for her. SHe said that she needs to see a apecialist ASAP that she is seeing signs of it possibly becoming active...and is also concerned of her liver. I would like ANY information that any of you can share with me about Chronic Hept. B...the problems associated with, the medicines available, etc. Thank you for taking the time to read and answer...your help is greatly apprecitated. Thank you and always...GOD BLESS!!

: Michelle
