: : : I have been reading the stuff about the petition and here is my story,I have hep-c,have done the interferon-riboviron combo over a year ago ,did not work,I suffer from siezures and still have the flu sysptoms, extreme pain in the shoulders, hands and feet get very tired ,the list goes on,but they tell me my liver is ok,I do not or cannot work,I have applied for s.s. benefits twice and have been turned down,I need help, can someone tell me what or where to go to get it.Social security does not consider this to be enough to keep a person from working,By the way I am 49 yrs.of age and have worked steady since 1969,I do not know what to do next,All I have to say is Come walk in my shoes for awhile and see how it feels, even after the hep-c drugs the effects are still with me,over one year later, please explain and tell me how to prove it.
: : : Thanks M.E.G.

: : I am one of the lucky ones I have hepititis c and I not only recieve ssi but I also receive ssd Atomatically you will be turned down three times. In any type of disiability case the government turns you down three times in hopes that you give up, after the third time you will be requested to go before a board in which they determine weather you will recieve the assistance. The info that you present is very important your work record since the diagnosis is critical, Medicade is aqvailiable to hep patients. Apply and reapply they will eventually approve.just go to your hrs office and if your income falls within the gudelines you will be approved, Case in example:
: A friend was dianosed with hep c, her count was low 43 she did not work was married with a working husband 9owned thear own home, she was accepted for medicaid within one week,(she also had no insurance). Her physician helped her apply thay have the ability to do so!
Another tidbit of information, There is a new drug that has been tested for the last two years in isreal the drug is called Amantadine, it has had a 72% conversion!!!!! I have been taking it fir three months now and my count has basically dissapated. The drug is taken by mouth along with your interfernol shots and rebetol. For the first time since I was diagnosed my urine is clear and the pains in my stomach are gone. I also am on a vitamin and herb regime consisting of milkthistle, goldseal, and a new item called liver guard( I heard about this one from a peramedic who was also dianosed and had excemptional results) I sincerly wish everyone Good luck with our desease. The new statistics are by the year 2002 i out of every 3 people will have hcv!!!!
