: Donna,

: Thanks for the information you provided. What kind of home monitor do you recommend or use? It is easy to become obsessed with taking readings. Also, what have you got your pressure down to, after all that work?

: Steve
Steve, First of all, if you're on meds you should check with doc before taking any herbs & spplements. I don't take any meds so I am free to experiment. I also do a LOT of exercise. Last time I took it, it was 126/76. A few weeks ago, I had to go to the emergency room for a bad case of bronchitis and it was 220/110 lol. I still have some confusion about blood pressure. A very good doc I know told me you either have it or not and that high blood pressure readings are really a matter of hardening of the arteries or inflexible arteries. If the arteries are inflexible, then your pressure is higher. If the arteries are flexible, then you don't have ESSENTIAL hypertension, but are getting higher readings from stress/nervousness. Soo, the idea would be to reduce stress/mervousness and undertake some sort of meditation exercises and any of the other things I was talking about / you know, getting a hold on or taking charge of what's happening in your life and making some changes. I wonder how many people are taking BP meds that don't really need it or could do a healthier approach to the problem? Docs are so quick to prescribe. Mine told me he had to, to protect HIMSELF lol. I just really believe that it is a good thing to monitor your own pressure to see if you really have HBP and research what you can do to lower it naturally. I use a wrist monitor, and it has proved to be accurate at the docs office. You have to make sure you do it right. Read the instructions!!!!!! Good Luck
