: Aileen - what did your herbalist has to say about Hyperbalance, if anything?

Her comment was on the ingredients - she knew most of them and felt they were all OK - in fact at least one is where some of the more modern drugs come from. So she was positive I guess - as I said - you can't buy it here in Australia so in some ways its academic. But it doesn't have any BAD stuff in it.
I want to try it but I need to know if it is working for anyone else, you know what I mean? I don't want to jeopardize my own health by quitting with my regular meds, however, I think the Zestril and the Lasix I take are hurting me in other ways. What do you take?

I'm on a half dose of Avapro at the moment. I'm supposed to be upping it to a whole tablet sometime but I have some other things to sort out first. My intention is to get my herbalist to make some thing up similar to Hyperbalance - or at least get her to incorporate some of the stuff in my existing herbal prep so that we might get a BP lowering effect out of it.

I guess all you can do is try it. You don't have to stay it for life if it doesn't work. And depending on what your current BP is - what about phasing the Hyperbalance in while you're still taking a half dose of your current one - it can be bad to suddenly stop taking meds. I'm not sure if any thing in HB is diuretic - or whether you will still need something to replace the diuretic you're currently taking. It would take a bit of research to find that out but it could be done - just look up all the herbs individually on the net - is the best search engine.

I guess my only final point is that the Chinese have been found sometimes to not be strictly honest with what they put in things so you'd need to be confident that what is on the label is in the tablet and so on. I don't know if you have any overseeeing bodies that regulate that sort of thing - we don't so you need to be sure the company is reputable.

Oh - and the only other concern is that some of the herbs in it may have an effect on heart rate - ie slow your heart beat - some BP drugs do that too and for that reason are unsuitable for some people such as athletes.

Good luck
