: I was at the doctor's office today and the nurse checked my blood pressure. It was 90/53. Is this too low. I am 23, of average health, and a bit underweight. I get regular exercise. Should I be concerned? If not, what pressure do you thik should cause concern?
Very commonly young healthy people do have lower than average BPs. This is not dangerous as long as you dont have anything else going on. One must take the whole picture of whats happening to the patient at the time. If you are otherwise healthy, be glad that your BP is low! You may get cold quicker but you have a much decreased chance of future heart attack and stroke.
