: I recently failed pre-employmen physical due to HPB (140/92). Their acceptable level is 140/90. I am very physical, I run and lift weights, do not eat fatty foods, broil or grill, do not eat red meat much nor take much salt. I eat veggies, fruits, take vit E and C. Our family has no history of heart ailments. In the past week, I've only been eating salad (light vinegar for dressing) and broiled fish with lots of fresh fruits in between. I also stared taking garlic tablets 2500mg/day. I've also doubled my running time on the tread mill (approx 8.5 min/mile). My re-eval is in two days... Is there anything else that I left out to do? My prospective employer is giving me a reasonable time to get my BP to limit. Any quick fixes? Thanks!

You sound like your doing everything right! You were probably just nervous. I get what they call "white coat fright" so everytime I go to dr. mine is high! But everytime I take it at home it is 110/75 or sometimes lower.
