LAtely, I`ve found that the best way to control blood pressure is just dont think about it. Im sure anticapating high readings will cause it to elevate. AFter I was diagnosed(161/117), I was obsessed, taking my bp at least 5 times a day or more.
Even though, I was taking meds my readings were still borderline. Much of that was due to anxiety over my condition. Nowadays I just take my meds and forget about it by take my bp once a day or once every other day.Not suprisingly, my readings are like 117 over 74.

Just a little food for thought.

: Can people become obsessed about their BP? I know that it changes all the time, but since I had (what the Dr.s call) a vagus reaction 1 yr ago, (that is where your bp drops) and they said that I was a healthy young girl, but now anytime I feel a certain way I will take it with my at home monitor. Alot of times it might not read it and I have to take it several times before I get a readding, when it does this it scares me and I think it is too high, or too low......when I took it it was 109/91 p. was like 109 too high.....normmally mine is 110/70. I wonder if I work myself up and this causes the bp to go up? I sometimes wish I would throw the thing away , because it is in my head that I am worried that my bp will drop again , like it did 1 yr ago. ANybody?
