: I'm wondering with my BP usually running between 150-160 over 90-95 if I should request that my doc put me on BP meds?

: He seems unconcerned and says I might be creating more problems than I'm solving by starting these meds. My BP's been around this level for about 1 1/2 years now with some fluctuations up and down over this time.

: Prior to this my BP was always 120/80 (in this general range). I'm wondering if my doc really knows what he's doing.

: I've considered getting my own cuff but think that I'll just obsess about the BP.

: Any help?

My doc says new standards suggest 130/85 as "normal". Did you question your doc as to why you would be creating more problems? I have a cuff. (I understand about obsessing). Dee
