: : I have just been diagnosed with polycistic ovarian disease, and am having similar problems, to most people in the fact that i dont have periods if i dont take birth control pills.

: : Could someone please tell me how the disorder effects a persons personality. I have found that i have no sex drive at all, and all i do is give my boyfriend a hard time... So much so, that as of late we have argued so much that i dont know what i want anymore, i am really confused... PLEASE HELP ME!?!

: Ok here's some answers, girl...

: Ok i've just been diagnosed with PCOS also. And actually mine's not that bad. I hardly have periods, and i have acne, but luckily i don't have excessive weight gain and hirsutism aka excessive body hair. my hair's just really dark on my arms and legs, but anyway.. I've been doing a lot of researching and found out that the reason we dont have a high sex drive is because it decreases the sex-hormone. and the BC pill and some other medications will help get your body on track. I've noticed i've had that problem too. it ticks me off. "Anyway, hope i helped in some way. good luck, and don't worry, it'll get better.

I have also been diagnosed with Polycistic Ovaries and I have noticed before knowing this that I was also irritable and angry a lot with my spouse. BUT, you must remember that you love this person and a problem is no excuse to mistreat someone that you love. My husband is a great person and sometimes I think that he doesn't even want to know what is going on with my body, but I know that if I was fine and had not been told I have this problem, I wouldn't care if he was interested or not. We just can't expect them to understand what we are going through because they can't BUT they can be there for support. Try to remember good things when you get depressed, it helps me.
