: : : : I am wondering what normal progesterone levels are. My obgyn did tests on about day 21 and 23 and levels were in the 4-6 range. All she told me is that I ovulated. Is it possible that I am conceiving but am not maintaining a pregnancy due to Prog. levels? Has anyone had experience with this. Help!!

: : I had a very similar experience. I had my progesterone level on day 25 of my last cycle. I also had an endometrial biopsy that same day. My doctor said they were in sinc with one another and within the "normal" range. This came as a surprise to me because after monitoring temperature charts and doing some research, I suspected I had a short luteal phase caused by low progesterone level. When I pressed further for more information, the doctor said my progesterone level was 5.8 which was on the "low side but still normal". I definitely think this could be affecting my chances of getting pregnant and plan to ask the doctor at my next visit about options to increase my progesterone level.

: Thanks Michelle for your follow up. I am interested in what you find out. I called my MD and she prescribed progesterone supplements to try. She said it could help. Please stay in touch and let me know what happens. My email should be listed above.

I am very interested in what all you ladies have to say. I just had an early miscarriage and 2 months ago my (day21) progesterone level was 1.2 yes (1.2). I wonder how I even ovulated. My M.D. said I would need clomid. How did I get pregnant with a progesterone level of 1.2? Any idea's. Is it possible that I ovulated but didn't have enough progesterone to "hold on" to the pregnancy?
