: Hi everyone. I'm new here and don't know if this has been covered before, but I'd like to know how women dealt with having a job and going thru treatments at the same time. We just discoverd my husband has low motility (actually, NO motility - we're still trying to assess the problem, but at least we know they're alive) and because of this, I'm assuming that I will have to endure some sort of treatment, i.e.; medication and procedures which will interfere with my job. I work in an environment which will make it difficult for me to just "disappear" or take time off frequently without comment being made. So, I find myself in the position of having to be very honest about the situation (thankfully, my boss and I have a very personal as well as business relationship since I've been working there 13 years, but still...a boss can have just so much patience). Any suggestions? Advice? comments? Thanks!

Laurie, My husband also has low motility, We are doing IUI with clomid, I have had iui and we just did our second cycle, I only had to miss 1/2 a day of work each cycle, the first one I took a whole day because I didi not know what to expect, infertility is covered by FMLA family medical leave act which allows you to take time off from work with out beung penalized, The hard part is getting the Husbands sample to the Drs and hoping theres enough motile sperm to conceive via iui, they say 1 million will do the trick, Good luck! Dont give up on your dream it is definately worth all the ups and downs...
