: : Hi everyone, I am 19, and have had PCOS since I was 16, but the doctor neglected to tell me. I just found out about six months ago that I have it, and have only been treated like I should by an Army doctor. (Husband is military) Now I am seeing a navy doctor. My army doctor told me that I might have endometriosis, and when I told my navy doc this he just looked at me and said that instead of doing anything surgically that they were going to have me stop my periods for awhile and see if that worked with the pain. I was online and saw that they are now using metaformin and troglitazone to treat it and was wondering if anyone had used it. I don't really want to be giving myself shots everyday, so if someone has take it could you answer a few questions for me.

: : 1- Is is injectibles or pills?
: : 2- What are the side effects?
: : 3- Is it working for you.

: : Thanks.
: I am 25 I was diagnosed last October with PCOS. I have had a hard time finding a doctor to do anything for me. I did find one but he put me on Metformin. I took it for about 3 months and did nothing. I had no period and was very moody. I gained weight when he said I would lose. I know it is different for some people and may not be a bad idea to try it. If can't hurt you. Just wanted to clue you in on what it didn't do for me. I recently in the last 2 months found out I have endometriosis. I never have a period and my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year. My doctor has finally put me on clomid, so I pray that this works.
