: : : : Would like to hear from anyone suffering with problem and the accompanying symptoms of dizziness/lightheadedness? Trish

: : : TRISH: I was suffering lightheadedness and dizziness for 2 months. My doctor sent me to an ENT. They ordered a cat scan and MRI of the brain which both came back negative and then did a electrocochlear hearing test which revealed excess fluid in the inner ear. Treatment? call in a month if it doesn't go away. I still get it occasionally but I take an over the counter diuretic(water pill) and decongestant for relief. My doctor said it is Mineare's Disease. I would suggest going to an ENT to make sure there is nothing going on first. There are also some web sites which may provide some stress relief from your difficulty. One is and the other is conciliocreative/
: : : Good luck and hang in there.

: : Trish-Have same symptons as Jim H-also diagnosed as Minear's Syndrome. Same treatment-Diazide for
: : fluid control and Diazepan for dizziness/balance
: : control. I know what you mean-I have 3 kids and its no fun just "losing it" all of a sudden.
: : If anyone else has any better ideas-please let us know.

: I am diagnosed with Meniere's syndrome for a year now. It comes and goes, and the worst part of my situation are the occassional 2 hour episodes of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. When my body settles down, I have extreme vertigo for about 2 - 3 hours, and then all goes away. The ringing or muffled ear usually precedes a major attack one or two days before and the ringing can be 10 minutes to one hour. I am currently taking only microzide, and watch what I eat very seriously. I feel it is some how diet related and have cut back on salt and coffee with caffeine. Any one else with the stomach problems?
: Carole
Hi, my first time here. Can anyone tell me if Minear's Syndrome is hereditary?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
