: Hi everyone, this is a very informative board. I'd like to share my story, and get opinions from others.

: Before any of this started, I was completely healthy, no problems. Then in early-May, I went to bed one night, and immediately started to feel my heart "pounding" in my chest (not beating fast, but beating "hard"). I got up, and sat down on my couch, and started to get the chills, then I would sweat, and I would have abdominal tightness. I also had a slight nauseated feeling (although I never felt like throwing up). This basically lasted all night, and the next day I went to the doctor, who told me I had "gastritis". He gave me Prevacid, and after a week or so I felt back to normal.

: Then, in early-June, I had the same symptoms again, although not as bad. It only lasted a couple of hours, then went away. From that time on, I have had a "tight" feeling in my abdominal area. Then, after a couple of weeks, I had another incident with the sweats, chills, and slight nausea. I went back to the doctor, and he told me this time that I had anxiety/panic. He prescribed me Xanax.

: After over a month, by mid-July, I still didn't feel good. So, I went back to the doctor. He reviewed with me everything, and then suggested I be tested for H-Pylori. The test came back positive, and I was given a supply of 14-day antibiotics to take care of that problem. I was then sent to a specialist, who told me I "probably" have IBS. I will go through the first of the many tests on Aug. 22, when the doctor does the endoscopy.

: Has anyone else had similar symptoms to mine listed above? I have been reading up on IBS, and I really don't think I have too many of the symptoms -- I rarely get diahrrea, or constipation. And I still have the abdominal tightness. Please also note that I have never had any pain at all, no acid reflux, just an "uncomfortable" feeling. I have had days where I've felt lousy, just because of the abdominal tenderness.

: I know this is long and dragged out, but I'm at my wits end here. Anyone with experience, I would appreciate it to hear from you.

: Thank you!

Hi. That is how I started! 3 Years ago. My heart was beading so fast that I landed up in the ER. For 3 years they concentrated on my heart and told me I had A-Fibs and put me on blood thinner Coumandin. Finely they found out ( after long time of testing and 3 hospital stays) the trigger of these A-Fibs came from IBS spasms. I am on BENTYL and the Spasms stoped and so have the A-Fibs. I can feel for you, the Dr.s don't pay much attention to IBS it seams. Read all messages on this board. There are some pro's out there, that seam to know more than some Dr. about IBS. Harry is the Pro on fiber!!!! and other stuff. This Board has helped me alot. CP
