: : : Does anyone out there have the same situation I do? The only time I have problems with my digestion is when I eat in a "fancy" restaurant. I never have problems from home cooked food or from fast food type restaurants. Any suggestions about how to cope with this problem and why it occurs? (I usually do not have alcohol.)Thanks so much for your help!

: : : I have the same problem! EVERY time we go to our favorite Mexican place, my stomach starts hurting about five minutes into the chips and salsa. One time I actually had to leave the restaurant because I felt an explosive bowel coming on, and I almost didn't make it home. The last time, a few hours after eating there, I got vertigo for three hours, and diarrhea every five minutes or so. Needless to say, I won't be going there anymore :(

: I have that problem after I eat at just about any restaurant! So, I don't eat out much anymore...and that's my favorite thing to do! Well, almost...

I think it is the mental aspect of IBS. Worring about "what if I have a reaction" builds stress causing a reaction. You probly had a triger food cause this reaction and now your body relates it to the restraunt experience. I have a simaler reaction to AM golf games and early morning busness meetings. Fiber has limited the results although cramping is still present. Wish I had a easy answer.
