The following story is 100% true. It happened earlier this year, but I'd like to share it with this board because it's important information to know. One night, I had a bad intestinal attack of diarrhea and severe pain. The medicine I take wasn't working. I knew I wasn't in a life-threatening situation but couldn't stand the pain, so i called 911 and asked for help and a pain shot. Minutes later, 3 big imposing paramedics (men) arrived. In a calm manner I asked for a pain shot. They refused. I said O.K. but before coming with them I'd have to wait a while because I'm going so much diarrhea and they don't have a toilet in their ambulance. Well, out of the blue they grabbed my arm hard and put me into handcuffs dragging me out into the cold winter without clothes or shoes on. Then, they beat me up in the ambulance. Fortunately, I survived and the matter has been legally settled in my favor. I'm under no gag order and can legally tell this story. So a word of advice... In Minneapolis, if you have to use the ambulance for anything, don't use Hennepin County (or HCMC). Ask 911 for an ambulance from Methodist Hospital or North Memorial Hospital or a private ambulance or take a taxi or limo. No one has been fired in their truama department. They have a bunch of out of control bullies who must be on drugs to treat a frail innocent person in excruating pain this way. Trust me. I swear to God I did nothing wrong and it was a nightmare experience to end all nightmare experiences.
