Maureen, First of all don't worry about the procedure - nothing to it at all. I was scared to death of it after reading about it. That morning the doctor reassured me and I finally relaxed. The drinking of the "cleaning out fluid" the night before is the worst part, I mean it. However if you have an upset stomach as much as I have then the "cleaning out" is no sweat. I went 26 times that night. It was not as bad as a usual night for me, way more often but less discomfort. My doctor gave me a drug in the IV that I thought knocked me out. However, they told me I was alert, eyes open and talking. But, I have no memory of it at all. I wish someone who had had a colonoscopy had told me about it. I would not have lost sleep the night before. If I have to have another one I won't give it a second thought. I hope this comforts you. Let me know how yours goes.
