: : I just love my two cups of coffee in the morning before I go for my walk and it does help me to go in the morning but is is truly something I should avoid altogether or are those two cups no big deal? I don't drink it anymore throughout the day and I don't drink sodas - just those two cups in the morning as a jump start.

: If you have constant diarrhea, it's not a good idea. Withdrawal symptoms from caffeine include constipation along with that wonderful headache...I can't seem to give up my 1/2 cup in the morning, so I understand...Watch it...Harry's gonna get me now...I must hide...

Hi Mel,
Mel as I understand the only problem you have is bloating after eating and no C or D and other pains associated with IBS. Caffiene is a No---No in any form for people with IBS. Coffee even a half a cup ---ANGIE--- gives some people diarrhea including my wife.

Years ago there was a treatment developed at the Mayo Clinic to cure peptic ulcers by freezing your stomach. The only requirement after going home was not to drink coffee. The article I read said,-- It makes your digestive system think--you have just eaten a steak and your system goes into action and does whatever it has to do for digestion-- such as secrete stomach acid(HCL), empty your gallbladder(bile) and produces pancreatic enzymes. That's sort of hard on your stomach when all it has do is process some coffee. With any kind of stomach problems I think coffee should be cut out.
Another thing I have never read or heard that drinking coffee builds Health. And, I have heard doctors say-- "don't drink coffee". Also, I never heard anybody say drink coffee --it is Good for YOU.
For bloating you may try "Charcoal Tablets" but don't take them with any medication and they absorb nutrients and should not be used daily. You can buy them at a health food store--take 4 or 5 when needed.
God Bless---Harry
