: Hello everyone!
: It's a blessing to be able to find a forum where you can discuss your personal problems about IBS. I was diagnosed about 6 months ago, and my MD didn't give me too many suggestions on how to treat this problem. He just said watch what you eat, and try to see what foods trigger your D.

: I really need some suggestions on supplements that I can take to make my BMs "normal". I play in a band and we're about to start playing some gigs. I don't have the time right now to experiment around with different foods to determine my dietary needs. I just need a quick fix to where I won't have to do #2 in a run down club.

: Your help will be greatly appreciated!

: thanks,

: Rick

Hi Rick,
We all have problems when it comes to being in the right place at just the right time. You will soon find out---an important part of your life is knowing where the acceptable restrooms are located.I have been doing it for so long it has become almost second nature to me.It's an unusual life when you go out, to go in a place and checkout the bathroom before looking at the menu or anything else in the place . I have found it necessary to make sure the service stations that you use have decent restrooms because sometimes they are some pretty bad.The last hurricane evacuation we had--it took 7 hours to travel 50 miles --it was an anxious trip.

The best thing I have found to do is take a water soluble fiber that is a bulk forming stool agent. The best I have found is psyllium husk-- it comes in a powder or capsule form. The capsules you usually have to get from a health food store. All fiber is not the same. The container that contains psyllium say it's a Natural Laxative but it wasn't too long ago that they said "BOWEL REGULATOR". So don't be scared to use them.

As you know----YOU have to find the Trigger foods that cause you problems and eliminate them.
Take Care ---Harry
