: : I am so glad I found this site. It is refreshing to be able to see that I am not imagining things and that I am not on my own. I have been seeing doctors for years over my IBS and finally a nurse practitioner woke up and smelled the coffee yesterday and concluded that I have IBS which unfortunately she stated is not generally considered a "real" problem. I generally have symptoms 24 hours a day and very rarely can sleep through the night. Constant
bloating and constipation but always feeling like you have to go and can't. I have missed work in the past for sometimes weeks at a time due to being totally incapacitated by excruciating pain, discomfort, and anxiety. I have started taking a combination of Zantac, Bentyl, and Levsin. Hope it works. My big problem is diet. As of right now, my doctor doesn't want me eating solid foods for two weeks to try and get my system to calm down before my follow-up. WHAT DO I EAT THEN? Does anyone know of a good diet plan that isn't mundane and bland and makes you feel like your eating leftover prison food? Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions and helping me not feel like I am alone.

: I know exactly how you feel, I am so glad that I found this website. Nobody seemed to understand.I mean you say your stomach hurts and everyone doesn't realize how severe the pain is. I reccomend hot tea and always lay on your side never on your back.Plus heating pads work great!!!!

Hi Diana,

Thank you for the reply and suggestions. I will try the tea. Hope it works as a sub for my coffee addiction. I'll try the laying on my side thing. I do notice that reclining on my back seems to cause great discomfort and bloating. I assume that the heating pad will help with some of the cramping and muscle strain in my stomach. Thank you so much. I'll let you know how it goes.
