Today is the first day I've visited this board.
I'm 21 years old and I've suffered from IBS-C for about 3 years. I first went to see a gastrointestinal Dr. after having symptoms for about 3months. I had woken up one morning and my stomach was so bloated I looked like I was about 6 months pregnant. My Dr. preformed just about every test possible that cost me a total of about $5000.00. In the end he told me there was nothing wrong with me and that it was mostly in my head. He did mention a possibility of IBS but said there was nothing to do to treat it and to monitor the foods I ate. I asked him to preform an allergy test. He refused, he said that food allergies was not even a possibility. Consequently I went to see a hollistic Dr. He ran an allergy test and found that I am allergic to eggs and milk. I was so excited to finally find a reson for all of my suffering. But after cutting these foods from my diet I saw little difference.
I was later directed by someone to go see a referred massage therapist who specialized in reflexology (study of feet). I was skeptical but willing to try anything. He worked on my feet for about 30 minutes. I had't told him about the problems I was having, but after he worked on my feet he was able to tell me about several ailments I'd been suffering, including digestive problems. He then proceeded to preform shiatsu (accupressure) techniques on the pressure points in my abdomen. After the session I did'nt feel any immediate results. It took about 3 days, but when it happened I felt great. I was having 2-3 BM per day, where previously I was having 1 every 2-3 days. Sadly the results only lasted for about 3 days.... I am now a massage therapist myself and the only thing that helps me is if I massage my abdomen and preform accupressure to my digestive points. There are also reflexology points in your feet that correspond to the different organs in your body. It also helps to apply pressure to digestive points located in the soles of the feet..

Although this helps me if I stay active with it on a daily basis I still feel the excrutiating pains that so many people on this board have so vividly described. So I continue to look for answers and a cure. - I recently spoke to a guy who is a Physiology Major, he said he has been able to help people who have not been helped by medical doctors. I explained my condition to him and he is now in the process of gathering some info. for me. If I hear anything new and informative I will post it.
I hope that this may have helped some people.
