I've never been diagnosed with any anxiety disorders, but I've had IBS for 30yrs. A lot of different things can make it change in severity.

I do know that Drs. are prescribing low doses(10-20mg.) of anti-depressants for treatment of IBS. (I'm on Elavil for IBS.) Possibly, the elavil that you were on was taking care of your IBS symptoms and now they're back cause you quit the meds. I don't know if going off the meds could have made the IBS more severe or not, but it might have gotten worse all on its own too. Hope this helps, Ann
