I started having IBS symtoms when I was around 20 years old, from what I've read maybe my gall bladder wasn't working even then, 25 years later I had my GB removed, then really in trouble with excess bile, my Dr put me on Questran, a med that soaks up the excess bile, I've been on it for 10 years and have no more problems. theres a valve that lets bile out into your intestine (the duct rom the liver), if it stays relaxed bile comes out continously, if contracted not enough bile so you have constipation.
