: Okay everyone, here is a wierd one. I've had symptoms of IBS as well as dx'd GERD for a couple of years now. Yesterday I had a loose bowel movement (but NOT diarrhea) that looked bloody. As graphic as this is, I mean blood in the water. Then I remembered I had beets with dinner yesterday and thought that must be it. This morning, the same thing happened. Again I'm thinking it was the beets from Sunday, but I'm beginning to wonder. It looks like blood - not beets. The only thing is that I haven't had much pain over the last couple of days. I've actually felt pretty good (a little nausea, but that is something I've lived with for a while now - no biggy). Any suggestions about what you would think? I'm going to wait until tomorrow before I get too concerned, but has anyone else had this happen? c.

It's weird that I looked up this web sit. The same thing happened to me last week end when I was traveling. I had a very small bowel movement, not diareah, however, there was a fairly large amount of blood in the toilet bowl afterward. It really scared me. I didn't have any pain or cramping and have not had any recurrence. I spoke to my Mom right away, and she said it could be caused by a ruptured hemmoroid. If this is the case, she said it usually heals up. I don't have insurance and don't want to go to a doctor, so I am just monitoring the situation. So far, everything is O.K. Please let me know if you go to a doctor and what they say.
