HELP - Abdominal Pain for Over a Month

I'm a 34 year old woman and I have been suffering with left sided abdominal pain for over a month. After four trips to the ER and a week long stay in the hospital, I was told that all they could find was that I had GERD and that the cramps I was experiencing was probably IBS. I've been reading some of the prior posts and I can't believe that there are so many people out there who have been suffering as I have been. On top of having this pain every day for the last month and a half, I have begun to get very depressed. I find myself almost in tears, if not in a full blown heart renching cry, almost every day. Different things trigger these emotions in me, but mostly I just feel like my life is passing me by. I want so badly to be rid of this pain and I feel like the doctors just aren't taking me seriously any more. All they can tell me is that the tests I had were okay so I must be okay. It's just so frustrating. My own husband sometimes wonders if it's not all in my head and it's killing me knowing that I have this pain and nobody believes me. Finding this message board really helped. Can anyone offer any suggestions regarding what I should eat. I had two days where I was actually starting to feel better and on the third day I was hit with a very painful episode of diarhea and have not been feeling well since. The pain is awful. Also, does anyone know if there is any connection between the depression and IBS? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you all.

Kathy
