: : I just stumbled onto this site after searching the web. After reading some of these posts, I hope some people do not think this is a "problem", because it is to me.
: : A few weeks ago, I began to have an uncomfortable itch in my rectum. When it became unbearable, and "wiping" to the extent of pain, I discovered a small internal hemmoroid. (Seems like a blister). As this is my first, I have no idea what to do. Too embarrased to ask anyone, and not feeling this requires medical attention, I decided to "search" for my own answers.
: : Can anyone here suggest a cure/remedy? Would simple Preparation H or other type of "ointments" help? Will this CURE the problem or only "mask it"? What are my options? What causes these?

: : Lots of questions I know, but this is new to me!

: : Thanks for your help. (I hope)

:
: Had the same problem a few years ago. Was it accompanied by excessive strain? I, like yourself, wanted to find my own solutions, but I eventually went to a doc. First the finger, then the scope. Not very fun, but it's a small price to pay for peace of mind. Curious though, internal hemorrhoids don't usually itch, they bleed. Could you be referring to an external hemorrhoid. In any case, you should probably see a doc unless your 100% sure it's a rhoid. If so, eat lots of fiber and drink lots of water (in my personal experience, water always works the best especially compared to soda or other drinks with a ton of sugar). If it doesn't go away within a couple of weeks, see a doc, just to rule anything else out.
: Take care.

The only way to get rid of problem hemmoroids is surgery...
