Sorry it took so long for someone to respond, but some days you just don't have time and when you do, the message is so far down no one sees it. I agree with Angie, but I'll detail it more. First make an appt. with a good Dr.(ask around). You need for him to run some tests first in order to rule out other things that resemble IBS (Like Celiac's, which Angie referred to). While waiting for all this to happen, start Harry's fiber regime...start slow tho, or else it'll create too much gas. Believe me, it took me 30yrs. before I would take fiber, cause I thought it would only make my problem worse, it DOES help with the diarrhea. Also, keep a journal of what you eat & how you feel. It will help you to figure out your trigger foods and the Dr. will probably ask you to do it anyway. Some common ones to look for are dairy, fatty or greasy foods, caffine, & alcohol. Some other ones I have trouble with are wheat, cauliflower, spicy tomato sauces, ginger,.... Hope this helps. Have patience and good luck! Ann S.
