I am 22 years old and suffer with the disease known as IBS. I say disease because of the way it controls your life with everthing you do! For most of my life I have suffered with stomach problems and the usual symptoms. I have gone to specialist after specialist covering all the grounds possible. I never thought they could use a body as a pin cushion. Was I ever wrong! My regular doctor has attempted to help me as much as possible to control my condition. We have now gone to the next level of medication using anti-depresent drugs to see if it will lower the stress level in my body etc..... It has worked for a time but over the last 4 months it would seem that I am going back to my usual routine of 2 days good, 3 days really bad.

3 years of testing and I pretty much have to come to terms with the fact that this disease will not go away. I have had the support of my family and girlfriend through this whole ordeal. I have to thank them time and time again for making my life alot easier. As of late things have not been the best with the IBS. I think it must have to do with the stress level of college and all the work that comes with getting a post secondary education.

Well I guess that's it! I thank you very much for letting me vent on your post site. It almost makes me feel better to know that I'm not the only one out there with this problem

Thanks

Barry Keegan
