: Hi Lynn, : I had my Gallbladder removed at age 19. and have had IBS ever since. I got an infection following the surgery and was hospitalized for several days. I had strong antibiotics through my IV for those days and had constant diarrhea. I have had chronic diarrhea and abdominal pain ever since. For me, I know that this all started then. When I went back to my surgeon and told him this he said that it was normal to have up to 4 bm a day and that if it was liquidy that was ok!! I was so mad. He just didn't get it. : KELLIA Hi, I have had ibs for 25 years now, I had my gallbladder out 2 years ago. I cannot stand having so many loose bowel movements. I dont' seem to get anywhere with my doctor. It seems to go in cycles, i go through constipation and diareah. I wish someone had an answer. Nancy
