I am so glad to see someone else talking about this! I am 30 years old and have been having pain in my right upper quadrant, radiating to my right shoulder, since Memorial Day. All of the tests I've had so far have come back normal, and it IS very frustrating. I was initially diagnosed with pleurisy, so a VQ scan was done on my lungs - normal. IVP - normal. Ultrasound was done today, tech said she didn't see anything... Liver function tests/bloodwork results not in yet. My mom suggested HIDA (she's been a nurse for over 25 years). Can it still be my gallbladder if I don't have stones? This pain wakes me up in the middle of the night. Also, I have nausea, indigestion, and I feel bloated even on an empty stomach.

: no rebekah, you're not going crazy! i can't give you answers either, but i do know that you are no sooner going crazy than i am. yesterday i had a HIDA scan (at my own request), obviously i don't have the official results yet, but the tech did suggest that my gb is functioning at 36% and apparently 65% is normal. have you investigated your gallbladder?
: i am 29, and have been dealing with this since the beginning of september. it is increadibly frustrating. laparoscopy x 2, ct scans, ultrasounds, x-rays, ivp, hida and bloodwork like i'm a pincushion. everything comes back within the normal range. at one point i was diagnosed with PID - jerks. of course that was wrong. good luck with your results, and keep on them - your pain is real. don't let them brush you off.
