Hello! I have a problem and I need some advice. I hope that someone can assist.

My mother died of lupus related illness when I was 13 years old. Recently (7 months ago) I was haveing a lot of pain in my right arm and left knee. For several days - into a week - I could not move my arm without significant discomfort. I went to the doctor, he gave me Vioxx and Darvocet for the pain and sent me home. After several weeks of this, he did all the tests for Lupus. He admittedly did not know much about Lupus, but did some research and took 8 blood tests. They were all negative, but since I was having still severe pain, he sent me to a rheumatologist. After waiting several weeks more to see this docotor, he told me that since all the tests were negative he could not do anything more for me, and to call him after the first of the year if I did not feel better.

OK - it is not the first of the year yet, and I still have pain. I had 2 weeks of relief and now the pain has come back in my hip and my leg and my ankle. My right arm is starting to feel tender again. I don't know how to handle this. I know the answer is probably - call your doctor. But I just don't know if I can go through the pain again. I don't want to whine, because anytime you ever hear anything about anyone that had Lupus, or any other chronic pain, all you hear is, "She has the most incredible spirit, she never complained." Well, I guess I dont have the spirit. I am tired all the time, I can't do the things I need/want to do, I hurt, and I don't feel like I am getting any support from anyone.

I am a single mother of 2 toddlers, I have a wonderful man in my life that tries very hard to be supportive. I feel guilty in relying too much on him, because the problem is really my own.

I know that these are all seperate problems, but I don't know what to do. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it.
