: Post your message on the Lyme Newsgroup -
: More people read it & can respond yes, many people have been misdiagnosed this way.
***- I am very interested in the question about the person or persons who may have been diagnosed first with lupus
or scleroderma, only to find out that they have been diagnosed with Lyme, too.
I have just started to research the two diseases, since I have Lyme and my mother has scleroderma.
I have stumbled across something rather astonishing; a research organization in Germany cites some Borrelia
burgdorferi (Lyme) studies (citations from British Journal of Dermatology, 2000, Vol 142, Iss 4, pp 636-644). Results? Dr. Wolf Gunther, Phd. submits that European
studies imply that the scleroderma could be tickborne--from the Borrelia (Lyme).
The studies from the U.S are not conclusive, but this vcould be breakthrough information.

Conclusion: I am wondering if lupus, scleroderma, and of course Lyme, are all arachnid-borne diseases. (I have been conversing with
a friend who says her doctor just diagnosed her with fibromyalgia and may be even lupus.(fibromyalgia and ms symptoms are common with Lyme).
My final point? this woman was bitten by a brown recluse about 18 months ago.
I would never suggest that all spider and tick bites will result in lupus, FM, MS, Lyme or scleroderma, but researchers out there,
you need to start looking for spirochetal bacteria in patients with the above symptoms!
