My wife has been experiencing MS like symptoms over the past few months. This has included problems with balance, weakness in her knees, problems with forming sentences, some memory struggles. She had implants put in about 18 years ago. She first went to a Neurologist who dimissed any correlation between breast implants and MS. She had a couple of MRIs which were reported "Normal". Subsequently, and because she wasn't feeling any better, she went to a plastic surgeon that specializes in breast implants. He indicated that he has patients that believe there is a correlation between their implants and the MS like symptoms they experience, the second doctor indicated that he didn't find any evidence correlating the implants to the disease. My wife had another MRI on her breasts to determine if any leakage is occurring. The MRI indicated that the implants were still intact and not leaking. We are now in the dilemma of medical science indicating that nothing is wrong with my wife, but some mornings she struggles to get out of bed and walk straight. Anyone with similar experiences, we would love to hear from you.

Does anyone here have silicone implants of ANY kind? This includes Saline-filled breast implants (the shell is silicone) Siicone poisoning (which many doctors dismiss) produces MS-like symptoms. There is an herbal regimen to help combat the problems. One is Alpha Lipoic Acid, available in drug and healthfood stores. It is supposed to protect the insulation around the nerves, get the immune system in balance. I have ms symptoms, but of course it cannot be diagnosed yet. I also have saline-filled breast implants. I've only had them one and a half years. There are many other people with these problems and implants. Also, we have joint problems.

: Avalon, I too have saline filled implants. And have been diagnosed with ms. My mom has been on me for several years about getting them taken out. But now, with the ms, she feels even stronger. I have had them for about 13 years, and have had no other problems with them. Unless you count all the ms type problems. I wonder how much is ms and whether it is ms at all now.
: Thanks for the link, I will give it a try.
