I was operated on in 1992 for what turned out to be transverse myelitis at least this was diagnosis and I became paralyzed. A few weeks later I developed miositis ossificans in the area of proximal femur. Quite extensive and have a lot of pain, almost continuous in my left groin area. Doctors here in Italy say pain is unrelated to growth, however when I am in car and road is bumpy I feel pain on each bump. Years ago doctors in the States said operation was a no no as hemorrhages would occur. A school friend, who was a orthopedic surgeon said he attempted to operate on a case such as mine and had a difficult time trying to stem a hemmorrhage. What is now available as I can no longer reduce the pain. I am almost seventy years old. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I am on trcyclics for depression and these may be contrindicated? Sincerely, Joseph Acquadro
