: My Mom has been diagnosed w/ PD for 3 years now, and she having urinary frequency and retention, and severe constipation. She has the urge to pee every 30-45 minutes which is worse sometimes at night. Is this normal? Is this about what you PD'rs are experiencing? Also the constipation is really making her miserable, more miserable than some of the other symptoms. We have tried everything including the applesauce/prune juice/bran formula I had seen here before! Help! Any information would be welcome. Thanks! BTW, this is a great board and great people who share some valuable info that helps caregivers like myself!

Debbie, I have been watching this board for a long time and have received a lot of useful information. As for me, I am a caregiver for my father who has PD for 16 years. He has trouble with constipation, and has tried countless prescription drugs and Dr. visits to no avail. For the last 5 years, the only way he could go is by enama. UNTIL NOW. He was given a recipe for constipation with all over the counter medicines that has worked wonders for him.Hopefully, it will help your mom and other readers. This is a 3 day recipe. (Day 1) Take 1 Senokot @ am, and 1 @ pm. (Day 2) Take 1 Senokot @ am, and 1 @ pm, and, 2 Dulcolax @ pm. (Day 3) Take 1 Senokot @ am, and 1 @ pm, and, 1 teaspoon of olive oil @ pm. Repeat this every 3 days. Dad has been regular now since he tried this going to the bathroom 4 - 5 times a week. Hope this works for you. Thanks to all the posters on this board, for the valuable information I have gain from you. God Bless you all.
