: : : I am currently taking 600 mg/day Neurontin, at night. At PD support group yesterday, a man said he is taking 1200 mg 3 times/day (3-400mg capsules), and he feels pretty good. At my current rate, I have not noted any decreased tremors, and they are present all the time. Any thoughts from members of this group? Lory

: : Lory, I checked about eight sites and two of them stated the average range of Neurontin was 900-1800 mg per day. Two other two sites stated you could take no more than 3600 mg per day. As you know, the doctor could increase the dose gradually if needed. One site stated the doses may be different for different people.
: Bruce, thanks for looking that up for me. My next neuro app't is Nov 1 or 3, and I'll bring that info with me, as well as get ahold of the fellow in our PD group to check his dose. He doesn't have tremors at all with his high dose of N. I have arthroscopic knee surgery Nov 8, so might have to have a spinal, rather than a local, to control the tremor better. Inside of my knee cap is disintegrating, and it hurts like heck. Might have to do some ADA adjustments to my job, or look elsewhere, after surgery. Think I'm a bit down/blue knowing that. Lory

Lory, I can relate to your knee problem, because I have one knne that has almost no cartlgege left in the joit. So it's looking like a total knee replacement. I take four Iboprofen tablets 3x a day and that "works" better than the high priced prescription drugs. At least it is bearable. Take care. Bruce
