: I have been having diarrhea/constipation for about 2 weeks. I went to the doctor and was told I had Irritable Bowel syndrome and given Levbid to stop the cramping. At that time I had not missed a period but have been trying to get pregnant for several years. I had an allergic reaction to the med and stopped taking it. I then started spotting and realized that I had missed my period by 3 days. I started having diarrhea that was very yellow in color. I took a home preg test and it is positive. Has anyone ever experienced this kind of diarrhea in an early pregnancy? I go to the ob/gyn tomorrow. Could the yellow color be hormone related?

I am the person who posted this message back in June. The reason for the yellow diarrhea was because I had an ectopic pregnancy. I ended up losing my right ovary and fallopian tube because the baby was so close to both and my tube did rupture. I do have to say that I have heard many people talk about the incredible amount of pain caused by an ectopic rupture but I did NOT have pain. Luckily I had a doctor that kept insisting that I keep having ultrasounds until the problem was discovered. HCG tests were done but were never conclusive. I did feel slight pain in my side occasionally and I felt gassy (coliky) and had pressure near my rectum. If you experience any of these symptoms please please please get to your doctor. The emotional pain of losing something you've tried so hard for is almost overwhelming. If you are pregnant, I urge you to thank God for blessing you with a child no matter what your situation is. Love and prayers to you all.
