: : Does anyone know anything about syrinx in spinal cord?I am having severe pain from neck.shoulders, back and leg on one side of body.MRI said I have this but doctors don't believe this is causing my pain.any help from anyone who has this or knows anything about it would be deeply appreciated. Thanks DEE DEE
: :DeeDee, I also have a long, but small syrinx from about c-4 to the thoracic spine. My neurologist says it could cause my leg pain(right side), but it is so small that it may not cause any symptoms and may never get any bigger, but I have my doubts. I have neck pain too. Some good places for info are American Synringomyelia Alliance Project and World Arnold Chiari Malformation Association or you could look under spinal cord disorder health board or brain/nervous system sites. John's Hopkins has a website with info too.--good luck, let me know if this helps you find some answers. Paula

8/26/00 - i have a client who was hit from behind last Nov. she had a spinal hemorage that they diagnosed as a "syrinx" (c5 - t1). she has experienced various symphoms, slowly progressing, lack of sensation in hands, legs, feet (esp. lft side). Skin numbness, tingling, hypesensitivity, that comes and goes. Has color changes in extremities. Currently limited muscle control in legs - progressively worsens as day goes on. Has been referred to pych. as nueroligists says these are not normal symptoms???Any input?
