: : My wife has been diagnosed with rls. I have read with interest the many rls messages but not many people seem to have the associated leg cramps. Is this unusual...They are so painful and last for many minutes..

: Hi Iam a mother in Australia I have a 7 year old boy he has had wiggle legs as he calls them lol for all his small life and yes he gets very painful cramps in his legs. Now that he is older he is able to tell us just where that is and it is around the ankle area you can here them crack all the time I am hoping that he will grow out of it but no luck so far. We have tried many diff things the best things seem to be are:
: Zinc so he takes tablets with zinc in them and he also has Magnesium Phospahate in a small tablet form when he feals them coming on he will suck on one they also work better if he takes on in the morning and one at night to get them in his system Magnesium Phospahate is a salt product. well I hope this is of some help for your wife let me know how it goes if you like. like you there is not much we can do for them but love them.

: King regards
: Cathy

thanks for the information. My wife already takes large doses of magnesium and muscle relaxing medications{Dr prescribed} I hope your son out grows this. How awful at such a young age..she says the ankle cramps are very painful..One little suggestion she finds that helps is warm feet..socks on in bed.. doesn't cure but does help some. SAM
