: : Another RLS sufferer here... I was wondering if you could tell me what is in "MIRAPAX" "MIRAPEX". I have asked my Doctor about this drug, and she could not find it in her reference books. (Australian) We may have the drug here under another name. Thanks,

Hi Robyn: In response to your question about Merapex, my doctor explained to me that it is almost the same thing as Permax, a nero-transmitter inhibter. He said that it is the second generation of Permax. All I know is that my doctor just put me on it last week and it is some powerful stuff. At first I had some bad side affects like dizzness, headaches, nausa, etc. But then my doctor cut my dosage down by 75% and so far so good. It seems to be working like the permax did. However, I have experienced some tremor and the feeling of tiny electrical shocks throughout my entire body when I am sitting still. My doctor said that's a good sign, it show that the Mirapex is beginning to work. I wish you the very best luck in using it,as your doctor perscribed, but don't take too much of it during the adjustment stage, you will regret it. Thanks for the question, a lot of us RLS suffers are wanting to know about this new wonder drug.
