: Monica- I would be very eager to speak to you. My best friend has a 9 month old son and just found out he had a stroke in utero. They have diagnosed him with cerebral palsey. She is shocked and confused right now- and knows no one with a similar circumstance. If possible, please contact me. Thank you- Carmen

re:fetal stroke-carmen, My son had a stroke in utero. He is now 8yrs old.I know what your friend is going through. It is hard not to think of what the future will be like, but I have learned that it is better to take one day at a time, never give up hope, and never under-estimate the resiliance of a child. My son too has cerebral palsey, I was told at one point that he would probably not be able to walk without a walker and should start to look at wheelchairs. My son, today, wears a brace on one leg, and can sometimes run faster than I can keep up with.I can't say that the road your friend is on is an easy one. My son is not without his problems.I worry about him often, but the joy he brings us is far greater than the sorrow. There was a poem I read that gave me great comfort, comparing the life with a special needs child to a journey. If you buy a ticket to Italy and find out that you are going to switzerland, at first you may be disappointed. you expected Italy which is faster paced. Things in Switzerland are a little slower paced, but beautiful just the same! If I find it I will Post it. Hope this helped a little. christine
